The mod is extremely easy to use; partially being its installation is the most difficult part of the entire process. When exploring old and new worlds, the player will be able to locate and identify new and unique biomes such as:
- Alps
- Pinelands
- Mountain ranges
- Woodlands
- Badlands (Wastelands)
- Outback (desert)
- Bogs
- Rainforests
- Tropics, tropical islands
- Meadows
Including a whole lot more, as well as 12 new tree types, village locations in new biomes and customisation options that a player can use to his/her advantage! Not only does this mod just add these features into the game, it brings a new sense of adventure and encourages the player/user to leave the comfort of their home or settlement, and explore the new world that awaits them. However, the developer of the Highlands mod has clearly taken into consideration the mind set of players and users, and has carefully implemented all of the features without introducing new blocks or textures into the game. Colour change is apparent in the mod itself; however leaves and wood blocks are easily associated with the Default Textures of the game.
